Using a Concealer to Cover Blemishes

When you look in the mirror is your eyes drawn to a bright red spot like a giant sign saying “Here I am” that is pointing to a zit? You may also think if you go out in public everyone that looks at you will see the pimple first then see you. Thankfully there are concealers that we can use to help hide or cover up those unsightly abominations to skin.

This reminds of an episode of The Wonder Years (I know some of you may not know what that is). In this particular episode Kevin tried to hide a zit by putting a band-aid over it. We don’t have to resort to that we can use make-up to help hide those blemishes.

When using a concealer it is best to not use too much as this will make the skin look very unnatural and cause more attention than it should. The trick is to cover up the pimple while being inconspicuous.

You also want to find the color that best matches your natural skin color. If you go too brown or too orange then you will start to look like a clown or that you have dirt on your face.

Also when you are looking for the right concealer try to find one that is can also help treat the blemish not just cover it up. This will help to reduce the appearance of the pimple as well as help to shorten its breakout period.

Some blemishes will be too red to be concealed and in that case it is best to use an acne solution at night to help combat the breakout. Also be mindful that some make-up can clog pores more so than others and that it is very important to clean it off completely and properly every night.
